Glorious Grand Canyon

Known for its visually overwhelming size and its intricate and colorful landscape, the Grand Canyon is believed to have been carved by the Colorado River, simultaneously deepening and widening the canyon as it winds its way through. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and achieves a depth of over a mile. The scope of the canyon is so vast only a fraction of the canyon's immense beauty can be seen from the best vantage points.
