Iconic Yosemite Vistas
Spectacularly stark granite summits, pristine meadows, cascading waterfalls and giant, ancient sequoia trees help to make up the beauty of Yosemite. On display are iconic vistas carved out of over 3,000 feet of solid granite. "Yosemite", meaning "those who kill" in Miwok, originally referred to a powerful native tribe driven out of the valley. The area was previously called "Ahwahnee", meaning "big mouth" by the indigenous people.
