Majestic Red Fir – Behind the Scenes
For my second painting, I chose to design an image focusing on my favorite region--the mountains. Again, I wanted to place the focus for this painting on the Red Fir trees and the elements of the mountains with half dome as a delayed read. With the clouds rolling up over half dome, I was giving it a sense of the cool, crisp air felt in the mountains. Besides vast and undeniable beauty of the mountains, I love how the people I encounter are so friendly and outgoing to others they encounter. Additionally, most of my fond memories are when my immediate family, great grandmother, grandparents, aunt and cousins would spend summers going on hikes, sitting around campfires and playing cards up at our cabin in the Sierras. No phones, no TV, no AC, just a wood burning stove, fireplace and each other.
