Aged Torrey Pine – Behind the Scenes

On my way to San Diego for an educational art convention, I decided to stop by Craftsman Revival in Solana Beach, a store I had spotted on a previous trip.  I was looking for a side table to purchase for my living room.  After walking around the store for awhile and seeing how amazingly it was decorated, I casually inquired about the prospect of their consideration of other artists’ work.  I received an excited response from the owner to photos of my work that I had on my cell phone.  To launch this new adventure, he suggested I design an image for the San Diego area.  I spent a lot of time choosing the specific area and looking around for the perfect tree with character and the ideal backdrop of the California coast.  The entire effort was well worth my time.  From this initial inquiry, we developed a great friendship and exceeded our initial expectations with the success and enthusiastic reaction to my work.
