Rugged Grand Tetons – Behind the Scenes

As a school teacher, my breaks have provided me with such incredible opportunities to travel to breathtaking locations with amazing friends. When deciding what National Park I should paint as a follow up to one of my favorite paintings, Radiant Yosemite Valley, the spectacular Teton mountain range just kept speaking to me. To this day, I still so vividly remember that moment the plane banked and out the window I got my first glimpse of the Grand Tetons sticking up like giant sharks teeth. The drama of the scene was enhanced by the sunlight shining through the clouds and illuminating the peaks.
